How do you feel about people using the source engine of Half-Life 2 or TF2 for things like skibidi toilet?
opinion on sonic the motherfucking hedgehog,,,
I'm sorry if I am bein too autistic on ur ask btw ;o: I just like seein ppl ramble :D
And how about Doom deathmatches? :3 If you haven't tried it then I recommend Zandronum and Odamex! Zdaemon is also good but my least fav out of the three
Played a bit, can't get source ports to work so I used the rerelease version and it's not bad. Not as good as Quake's DM, especially in the netcode. I can see gameplay being worse since not being 3D eliminates a lot of map design options and gameplay choices, sure, makes sense. But the Doom rerelease came out after the Quake rerelease so I don't know how they fucked that up.
80 ping in Quake DM is probably equal to like... 20 in Doom. The fuck.
Have ya tried any of the HL Deathmatches yet?
I think I played a bit of HL2DM and didn't find it very fun since the gravity gun isn't all to cool to me, and the rest of the weapons are... Poor.
Though I enjoyed HL1's DM because it has a lot more interesting weapons to use in combat.
The Tau Cannon requires justice. The Tau Cannon requires a game, in or out of Half-Life.
How do ya feel about Quake 1 and Quake 2? :3
Haven't played much of Quake 2, it looks... A bit boring?
As for Quake 1, it's... Neat, but I can't help the feeling it's just 'Doom but 3D'. It doesn't help that the series' history is so similar. "Oh, we got 2 games that are violence simulators about a soldier going to kill demons from Hell or Lovecraftian Hell, then a story-heavier horror game then went to sleep for 10 years and we were well known for deathmatch multiplayer."
At least Quake was born with Action Horror at it's roots. Maybe a modern interperetation could try and perfect what Doom 3 was trying to do.
I don't like it's enemies as much as Doom's, partially because of the, "It's 3D now so we can't stick 100 monsters in a level, let's make them all spongy." A lot of them also just aren't as interesting, but it did make for some fun DM gameplay whenever I play.
I'm surprisingly good at it, actually. Though that may be because I have 4K hours in TF2, which is - by all practicality - the most modern Quake game behind Champions.
I've done a lot of bitching about Quake, lemme say some good.
I don't know if this is a hot take, but the 90's metal of Doom hasn't aged to well, I believe. I don't remember the vast majority of songs in those two games, those soundtracks were at their bests with Sign of Evil and The Demon's Dead.
Then we get Doom 64 which is a bit more atmospheric, the songs that are trying to be badass are a bit more rare and they're allowed to stand out more. It helps that 64's theme is actually really badass.
Then we got Quake.
I think that game has the most badass theme song of an ID Software game ever, and these are the guys who got Mick Gordon as a composer.
And compared to Doom 64, Quake's atmospheric music is pretty special.
I can't be too bothered the series has gone dormant, though. Everyone thought Dark Ages was going to be a Quake game and considering how I've always felt there isn't nearly enough distinction between them, sure. Quake lives on through Doom, unless they're going to do something Doom isn't with future Quake games, I can be happy with them being one in the same.
Which is your fav TF2 merc? :oo
I presume you're talking about character and not gameplay. If it's gameplay you mean, then Scout and Soldier.
As characters, probably Medic or Heavy, not even just because they're funny but because they're also the most badass. I can't quite explain why, but if the comics got continued, or if we ever got that TV show, I'd probably enjoy them the most.
Opinion on the Left 4 dead games? :3
L4D is badass, it's a blast if you've got a good friend group. The Developer commentary is also just as fascinating as usual, it's incredible to see how the silhouette artstyle used in TF2 impacted the designs of the special infected. Hell, the smoke around the smoker is for readability, you'll always be able to see him and tell when he died. The tutorial system also returned for Portal 2.
Me and a friend group got maybe 100 hours on it, especially due to mods. Good times.
I don't play L4D1 since it's obsolete now, but I prefer some of it's particle effects.
